Where to start?

AKPA

As a small charity based in the East of England, AKPA (Addenbrooke’s Kidney Patients Association) understands how confusing the UK benefits system can be for people living with kidney disease.

While we’re able to offer some advice through our volunteer advisors, we also recognise the value of connecting patients to trusted national resources. This page brings together a range of helpful links and guidance about benefits for kidney patients in the UK — including support with Personal Independence Payment (PIP), travel reimbursements for dialysis, and other financial help available to those living with kidney failure or recovering from a transplant.

If you would like to contact AKPA – please do so via our contacts page.

Employment rights

Understanding your employment rights is an important part of protecting your wellbeing and financial security. Kidney Care UK provides a helpful overview of what rights you have at work — including adjustments your employer may be required to make. Visit their section on Employment Rights to find out more and get practical advice.
